Knaresborough Civic Society strives to make Knaresborough an even better place to live, work or visit. Aims: protect, preserve and conserve Knaresborough and stimulate public interest in the town, its beauty, history and setting; monitor proposals for new buildings and developments; promote high standards of architecture and town planning; act as a collective voice when local views are sought; promote projects such as renovating historic buildings and improving the quality of public places and spaces; stimulate public interest in environmental issues; undertake surveys and research.
