Conversational French

If you can already speak some French but feel you need more practice to improve the quality of your French, then look no further.

This current group is filled with Francophiles who enjoy getting a chance to speak and occasionally get corrected without spoiling the fun.

We usually start with an update on what has happened during the previous week. This is a great way to get members talking. We also talk about a book which we read, a chapter at a time, and discuss the plot as well as the unknown vocabulary. This usually takes us to a coffee break. I then hand out an article from current affairs and we discuss it together.

Finally, I show a news report on the TV screen to help with your listening skills. It is important to be able to speak French at a reasonable level as I try not to speak English to make it more challenging.
